Airline Profile Series Vol. 8 - Limited Edition DVD
BOB SCOTTY STOLL, Staten Island, NY, USA, AUG 14, 2006:
Henry, I just had the opportunity to view the above DVD. It brought back a lot of memories of flights I have taken in my lifetime.
Like many old timers (64 years old), my first flight was on a DC-3 and I flew on several of the planes shown on the
DVD including the Northwest Stratocruiser and especially the Capital Viscount.
It was also interesting to see film of an Air India Constellation. I've worked for Air India over 35 years but had only seen photos of this airplane.
However, I must point oput one thing. About one minute into the "Into the Blue" portion of the DVD, there is about 10 seconds of aircraft movements at La Guardia airport in NYC. The DC-3 is Northeast Airlines, the DC-4 next to
it I believe is Colonial Airlines, the Connie is a TWA ship, and the DC-6 on the taxiway is a United Airlines plane.
I used to walk the observation deck at LGA which was only about 10-15 feet from the tarmac. It was an absolutely great place to see, hear and smell what a airport was all about. I know this is LGA in the film because when you see tha traffic on the land side of the terminal, two Carey Coaches (note their unique design) were parked at the curb (right side and not left side). Perhaps the film was mislabled, not that I minded as seeing LGA once again in the 1950s.
Probably only an older timer from NYC would notice such a thing and it dosen't detract from the story line of the DVD.
You put out a quality line of products. I've enjoyed each one I've ordered.
