After the show we walked over the Hilton to have a look around. We played some slots and lost a bit. Then took the Monorail back to the Flamingo, and were back there a bit before midnight. We bought some beers at the Flamingo using our 2 for 1 coupon from the funbook we got upon check-in. Played a regular WOF 25 cent machine and lost (playing max bet), and then had a seat at the big WOF 5 cent wheel near the Flamingo entrance out to Bill’s Gambling Hall. Won $75 in about 5 minutes and decided to call it a night slightly after midnight. We checked our $300 gambling purse and were just a bit ahead. But had lots of fun on our first day!

DAY 2) MONDAY JUNE 25 2007
We love spending the morning relaxing and swimming at the pool, and we both agreed that the pool at the Flamingo is fantastic! Very beautiful and lush grounds, with lots of loungers for everyone. We were down at the pool entrance by 0815. Unlike the Monte Carlo, there is never a line up to get into the pool at the Flamingo as the towel pick up is inside the pool area. At the Monte Carlo, you have to line up at the pool area entrance to have your hotel room card checked and get your towels, so that slows things down considerably. Congratulations to the Flamingo management for doing this so smoothly. We claimed our two loungers and set up our towels, then walked back to the coffee and cake place (like Starbucks) by the doors out to the pool area to get our coffee and breakfast snacks. We were at the pool swimming, relaxing, reading and sunbathing up until 1200 noon. We loved the little palm tree islands within the pool that you could sit at and sunbathe while in the water. Pretty close to nirvana in Vegas as you can get! A huge thumbs up to the Flamingo pool. We also enjoyed two pool side drinks. I had the margarita and IME had the pina colada slushy drinks. They were $10 each, but very nice. We’re on holidays, so what the heck! Between 1200 and 1300 we were in the room getting ready for the day.

We went straight to Bill’s Gabling Hall right next door to the Flamingo. We signed up for their new member program and got to put our names into the $2500 Money Grab draw box. They draw six names each day from the draw box, and each lucky person gets to spend 45 seconds in a telephone booth with $2500 in cash being blowing around by a huge fan. Whatever you can grab and stuff in a small box you get to keep! Unfortunately neither of our names were chosen, but we watched the six lucky people chosen. The lowest cash grab was $60 and the highest was $260. The average would be around $170. Only new people in their program can put their names in the draw box, so you can’t come back and try again and again. You have to wait 30 days before sign ups. The money grab lasted from 1330 until 1400ish, and then we walked over to Paris for a bite to eat at one of the coffee shops. We shared a lox sandwich for $7, which was plenty for the two of us, as they give you a huge amount of lox. Fantastic value!

Played some slots at Paris then walked to PH and lost some more money. Then walked down to the half price tickets outlet at Showcase Mall to see if we could get tickets to Mamma Mia. They were completely sold out and none of the other half price availabilities were of interest to us. None of the Cirque shows were available. So we decided to walk through MGM and Paris to have a look around. Not much new to report, gambled at both and lost. We love NY NY and like visiting the stores there. IME likes the clothing and I like the Houdini magic shop. So we paid our usual visit and were happy to be there. We both love that sweet perfume smell they use in NY NY.

Over to the Carnival World buffet at the Rio for dinner
All of a sudden it was 1700 and close to dinner time so we decided to try the Carnival World Buffet at Rio, which is a new one for us. So we cabbed it over to the Rio from NY NY, and used the $5/person discount from our funbook, and paid $51 including tax for dinner for the two of us. We have tried the Rio seafood buffet in the past, but wanted to try the non-seafood buffet. Dinner was superb. There was still lots of seafood on offer including smaller crab legs, hand peal shrimp, Mexican shrimp salad, oriental style fried shrimp, fried clam strips, breaded scallops, and a bouillabaisse with mussels, clams, and prawns. Their desert bar included a Gelato bar, which was fantastic, and this is not available at Spice Market. Overall, the deserts at Rio’s Carnival World buffet are better than the Spice Market's desert bar.

After a super dinner (10 out of 10) we went for a walk looking at the shops on the level above the casino floor, and enjoyed the Rio show in the sky. At around 2100 we took the free shuttle over to Caesar’s Palace. The shuttle driver was a retired gentleman who entertained us with his comedy routine, which was very funny. Perhaps he’ll have his own show next time we’re in Vegas! Played some slots at Caesar’s and lost a bit, and then walked through the Forum shops which we always enjoy. IME stopped in at Kiehl’s and got some nice creams.

It was already 2300 and the stores were closing, so we went across the street to OShea’s and lost some money playing BJ. Then walked down the street to the Rock Bar outside Imperial Palace (IP) but they were charging what looked to be a hefty cover charge, and appeared to be selective as to who they were letting in, so we said to hell with that, and kept walking. Walked into the IP and used the 2 for 1 drink coupon from our funbook and got 2 Heinekens for $5 plus $2 tip, and sat at the bar to rest our feet a bit. Walked back to the Flamingo and called it a night around 1230 am. Our gambling wallet was down to $252. Again, we had another action packed and mega fun day!

DAY 3) TUESDAY JUNE 26 2007
We again spent from 0830 until 1200 noon in the Flamingo's pool and thoroughly enjoyed it! From 1200 to 1230 we got ready in the room for our day ahead, and I went down to the lobby ahead of IME so I could check my emails using the Internet station by the elevators. At $5 for 5 minutes it is rather expensive, but that is the price for convenience. At 1300 we again walked over to Bill’s and played the big WOF at the entrance and won a few dollars. We both enjoyed two of their 99 cent margaritas and we shared a $1.25 hot dog. Did the trick. Then walked down to the Showcase Mall and bought half price VIP tickets to Trent Carlini’s Musical History of the King show for $35 each. I needed to check emails so used the low cost internet machines in the second level food court at Showcase Mall (costs only 35 cents a minute .. cash only) while IME did some more window shopping at the M&M shop.
